Teays Valley Church Vision

CHRIST

JESUS CHRIST IS THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING WE DO. WE WANT TO FAITHFULLY SHARE THE GOSPEL, CELEBRATE CHRIST IN EVERY GATHERING, TEACH GOD’S WORD WITH CLARITY, AND WORSHIP TOGETHER IN A WAY THAT HONORS HIM. OUR DESIRE IS THAT EVERY MINISTRY, EVERY RELATIONSHIP, AND EVERY STEP OF THIS CHURCH PLANT WOULD GLORIFY GOD.

COMMUNITY

WE BELIEVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS MEANT TO BE LIVED TOGETHER. OUR VISION IS TO BUILD A CHURCH WHERE PEOPLE DO LIFE TOGETHER, MAKE DISCIPLES ONE-ON-ONE AND IN GROUPS, AND GROW IN GOSPEL-CENTERED COMMUNITY THAT EXTENDS INTO THE HOME. WE ALSO WANT TO BE DEEPLY INVOLVED IN THE TEAYS VALLEY COMMUNITY, BUILDING REAL RELATIONSHIPS AND HELPING PEOPLE TAKE MEANINGFUL STEPS TOWARD CHRIST.

COMPASSION

WE WANT TO LOVE PEOPLE WITH THE COMPASSION OF JESUS. THAT MEANS SERVING THE REAL NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY, CARING FOR FAMILIES, AND BEING ATTENTIVE TO OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP BOTH LOCALLY AND AROUND THE WORLD. OUR PRAYER IS THAT TEAYS VALLEY CHURCH WOULD BE KNOWN NOT ONLY FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE, BUT ALSO FOR HOW WE LOVE, SERVE, AND GIVE IN THE NAME OF CHRIST.

Meet TVC Church Planter and Pastor Mark Wimbish and His Family

Mark and Carrie Wimbish, along with their three children—Jase, Lily, and Waylon—are grateful for God’s call to plant Teays Valley Church. Mark was born and raised in Central Ohio, was called into ministry at 17, and has faithfully served in student ministry for over 20 years. He earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a Master’s degree in Evangelism and Church Planting from Liberty University. As a family already living and serving in the Teays Valley area, the Wimbishes are passionate about seeing people reached with the gospel, families strengthened, and a healthy church established for generations to come.

SEND Network

Teays Valley Church has been approved by SEND Network, the church-planting ministry of the North American Mission Board. SEND Network helps church planters through assessment, training, care, and ongoing support.

This approval came after a thorough process that included applications, recommendations, pre-assessment work, and a two-day in-person assessment in March 2026. Through that process, Mark and Carrie were evaluated in areas such as calling, family life, leadership, disciple-making, and mission.

We are grateful for the encouragement and confirmation the Lord provided through SEND Network. This approval reminds us that we are not planting alone. We are being sent, supported, and strengthened as we seek to reach Teays Valley with the gospel.
